Happy Thanksgiving Book Nerds!
So I have been up since 6am & I finally caught a break from preparing for the feast. I wanted to share a few words with you lovely people.
First of all Thank you so much for following Da Blob these past few months. It has been quite the adventure and I have met so many beautiful people through it. When I first started Da Blob back in February my only intention was to share my experience and have nerdy discussions with people like me, but you guys have given me so so so much more.
This past year I have made So many friends from all over the world & I am thankful for every single one of you guys! It’s really difficult for me to find people who understand me & my obsession with all things fandoms but you guys know…You understand!! You don’t think I’m creepily weird. & I am so grateful for you!
& where would I be without the awesome, brilliant minds of Authors? Without their books I have no Idea where I would be. Their books have gotten me through some of the most difficult times in my life. They have Distracted me, Taught me to Love, to Be Brave to keep fighting but most of all they have taught me to love myself. My really Odd Awkward self, & to embrace it.
I am extremely grateful for my job which does not pay very much but allows me the time off to go to all these book nerdy events.
& Without my family I would be in a really really dark place. No matter how odd I think they are or how much they annoy me & all those arguments we tend to have…They know me & they still love me, they are always on my side, & even though they do not understand the whole nerdy fandom blogging thing they always ask about it.
I am especially thankful for my BFF’s. Life has been insane & They have been there with me through all of it! They are the only people who can truly make me laugh. They are also a huge influence on my Fandoms. Like AHS, GOT etc etc…
There are a billion other things I am thankful for but that would be a ridiculously long post & I must get back to the family.
So today I encourage you to stay away from the internet & be present. Put down the book and hang out with the family. I know family is super weird and awkward and embarrassing but they are the family you were given so treasure them. Play the super cheesy games, talk to them about anything, listen to them, help cook & clean, & when those really annoying family members starts stirring up drama don’t fuel the fire. Instead take a little advise from a book:
“When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind. – Dr Wayne W. Dyer ” — R.J. Palacio
So Here is a HUGE Happy Birthday to Carlos.
May it be more magical than 7 years at Hogwarts.
